Correction: vision can survive without the mind stone. If you recall, banner said that vision has so many minds other than the stone, including stark, his own, Jarvis, vision, etc. Then Shuri proceeds to say that there is a way that the stone can be removed without him dying. The only reason he died was beacuse thanos wasn’t careful at all in removing the stone and literally left a whole dent in his forehead.
